Rosneft joined in the struggle for Kerimov’s shares “Uralkali”

Rosneft, controlled by Igor Sechin, joined the struggle for the share of the billionaire Suleiman Kerimov in the largest world manufacturer of potassium fertilizers Uralkali. This was reported by the Prime Agency with reference to a Sunday source close to negotiations. Kerimov owns 21.75 percent of shares.

The emergence of a new player may call into question the completion of the transaction with the former head of the state building banker Vladimir Kogan, the source noted. “It seems that Sichin bypasses Kogan. At least for now,” the agency quoted his words. Rosneft did not comment on this information.

On Friday, RIA Novosti reported with reference to an unnamed source that Kogan bought a share of Kerimov in Uralkali. According to the agency, the amount of the transaction amounted to 3.7 billion dollars, and the buyer has already paid part of this amount. However, then representatives of Kerimov and Uralkalia refused to comment on information about the deal with Kogan.

Earlier it was reported that Kogan is trying to agree with the Sberbank on the allocation of a loan for a transaction. The head of finorganization, German Gref, refused to comment on the allocation of a loan to the banker.

On September 7, lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky informed on his Facebook page with reference to a “very serious” source that the Banker K. from St. Petersburg became the buyer of the share of Kerimov in Uralkali . Subsequently, the managing company of Kerimov "NAFTA Moscow" denied information on the sale of securities.

The market value of Kerimov’s share is $ 3.4 billion. Sources reported that Kerimov asked for about $ 4.5 billion.

Uralkali was in the center of the international scandal after the company's general director Vladislav Baumertner was detained at the Minsk airport on August 26 after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich, and Kermimov himself was put on the international wanted list. Baumertner was charged with abuse of authority in the framework of a criminal case on the activities of the Belarusian Potassium Company.
