The mayor of Yekaterinburg, Evgeny Roizman, shook his hand to the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev and called him to "reset the situation", announcing his readiness to cooperate, RIA Novosti reports. The statement of the founder of the city without drugs, elected by the mayor of September 8, was made at the session "Regional Diversity" of the Valdai International Club.
Answering the moderator’s question about the work of the regional government, Roizman expressed a position on the appointment of governors. Problems of "appointments" arise due to the fact that often these are people who are not related to the region and are in time school. Nevertheless, the mayor expressed a desire to cooperate with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region.
“Since the elections have already been won, and people voted for me, Evgeny Vladimirovich, I am ready to shake your hand and tell you that I am ready to work. Let's get out of the situation,” Roizman said, addressing Kuyvashev. The handshake of two regional leaders to the applause of the hall called the session moderator "historical event."
The conflict between Kuyvashev and Roizman began more than a year ago. Its result was the institution of several criminal cases against Roizman himself and employees of the City without drugs, as well as in relation to the civil wife of the politician, journalist Aksana Panova.
The new mayor built his pre -election campaign to contrast the indigenous inhabitants of the Middle Urals and the "appointments from Tyumen." They were accompanied by loud scandals. In relation to Roizman, the PR company was unleashed by one of the stages of which was the display on the local television channel for the transfer of Moscow journalist Andrei Karaulov, dedicated to the founder of the city without drugs. On the day of the elections in Yekaterinburg, leaflets were distributed, which reported that Roizman was removed from the elections, but he did not manage to exclude his "accidentally" from the ballots. On the night after the vote, when it became clear that the chances of Roizman to win the victory, internal troops were pulled into the city.
Despite the fact that on the night of September 9, Kuyvashev stated that he was ready to work with any mayor, he still did not congratulate Roizman on the victory.
