The philosopher Vadim Rabinovich died

In Moscow, at the age of 79, a philosopher, a culturologist, poet, prose writer and translator Vadim Rabinovich died.

Vadim Lvovich Rabinovich was born in 1935 in Kyiv, in 1959 he graduated from the Moscow Chemical Technology Institute with a degree in the chemical engineer-technologist, worked at the chemical plant, at the Institute of Fighting Fossils of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

In 1967, Rabinovich defended his dissertation in chemistry, in the same year he graduated from the Gorky Literary Institute, where he studied, in particular, from the poet Ilya Selvinsky.

The recognition of Rabinovich was brought by the studies of alchemy: “Symbolism in Western alchemy and the tradition of Ibn-Rushda” (1971), “Alchemy as a phenomenon of medieval culture” (1979).

Rabinovich worked at the Institute for the History of Natural Sciences and Technology (1967–1982), at the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1982–1992), since 1992 at the Institute of Man of the Russian Academy of Sciences. At the same time, he taught at the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, headed the sector of “Languages ​​of Cultures” of the Russian Institute of Culturology. In addition to scientific papers, I released three books of poems.
