The Swiss carpenter Yorg DUSS came to Russia by accident, almost out of curiosity, 17 years ago. And he became a resident of the city of Tarus. Since then, he has organized a charity fund and his construction company there to provide jobs for Tarusian boys. Now Duss has a new plan: to return Russia to Russia - by reviving traditional communities. COLTA . Ru I decided to learn more about this amazing person. The story of Jorg Duss was recorded by Polina Eremenko.
I do not want to boast, but I know Russian society better than any Russian. For the 17 years that I live here, I have seen so much that it is time to write a book. I was friends with homeless people, alcoholics, abandoned grandmothers, orphanages and a dozen of your billionaires.
I got to Russia quite by accident. I studied in Switzerland for the joiner, and I was offered to go to Tarusa for three months. At first I did not understand anything. People before my eyes threw candy wrappers right into the street. I ran after them, raised candy wrappers and explained with gestures that this was impossible. Then I realized that there was no need to be angry with the Russians - they have been transferred so much over the past 100 years that it was not for me, the Swiss, for 200 years that the war has not seen, to teach them.
I realized that I stay after one case. Probably, it was already two months since I lived in Tarusa when I stood in the store in line. Grandmother stood in front of me. When her turn came up, she turned her handkerchief with coins, saw that she was not enough even half the bread, and left. I asked the cashier: "Gather me all that shelf in packages." He grabbed everything quickly and ran to catch up with his grandmother. I waited until she went into an empty lane, did not want to do it in public. How do I know, maybe she would start screaming, because I am a stranger man. And I told her: “Look, grandmother, I don’t know you, you don’t know me. But I want to help you. " And he gave her this bag. She looked at him and cried.
I helped one former director of the collective farm, which was at death. He alone was lying on a social bed in the hospital, without a family, without food and without clothes.
Then I returned to Switzerland for a while and told my friends what I saw. I asked them to help the poor Russians. Pensioners and ordinary employees in Switzerland began to give me money. In the year I collected 50 thousand euros. So it turned out my Foundation "Rainbow Tarusa". With this money, I was able to feed and wear hundreds of people in the 90s. Now, of course, life is different, but there is still enough work. You need to find the corner of the grandmother, whom the children kicked out of the house, send boys from the sports section to the World Cup in martial arts and find firewood for the winter for a large family. Only money has become more difficult to collect.
In Switzerland, many say to me: “Why do you ask for money from us when there are so many billionaires in Russia. Ask them. " Moreover, these media in Europe - they constantly criticize Russia, all the time they say that creatures live in Russia. And they say to me: "Look where you live." They think that here the police beat everyone on every corner. Who wants to help such a country? I already quarreled with many old friends in Switzerland because of this. They do not like Russia, but I am offended.
Or the same policy. Here's about Navalny. In Europe, he would have no chance of becoming mayor at all. You are 37 years old, and you want to lead the largest city in Europe, when you never sat in a public office, do not know the apparatus? It's funny. Become wiser and then go. But the West from the first minute shouts: “This is a candidate!” And they themselves will never put it.
I respect Vladimir Vladimirovich very much. Now I understand - the more the West writes badly about him, the more he does for Russia. I can make you about Putin a list of several sheets of A4 of the things that he did for Russia. I saw life under Yeltsin, and now it has finally became stable. And right that he does not show his family. Work separately, the family is separate. I, too, have already stopped showing my family to reporters for two years. But in Switzerland, nothing of this is understood. They do not want to understand. They are busy with their problems there.
© Polina EremenkoThe last time I was there, I heard: they have some frogs live there in some swamp. And the inhabitants of the city complain of these frogs, because they croak too loudly and prevent them from resting on Saturday. They croak too loudly! There are such problems in the world, and you are discussing such a garbage.
I can’t call myself authority in Tarus, but I know that local boys will stand for me. Recently I came to visit me a friend. I went for a walk in the evening, and these boys, masters of sports, whom I send to the World Cup, became attached to him: "Why are you here?" - "At a friend." - "What?" - "Dussa." - "Ah, everything, everything, respect." Of course, it was pleasant to me. Although not everyone in Tarus understands what I am doing here. The local official once says to me: “You are from Switzerland, a capitalist country. So you are building this kindergarten, but I sit and don’t understand-where did you get from this? ” I tell him - there is no rollout. And he does not believe. Then I say to him: “You know, I have a big one, just not financial, but emotional.” He did not understand anything. And helping people is very easy. A friend is sad - bring him a donut. A person needs terribly little for happiness. And besides, you never know where you will be tomorrow. I helped one former director of the collective farm, which was at death. He alone was lying on a social bed in the hospital, without a family, without food and without clothes. And I cannot throw it out of my head. The director of the collective farm, such a big person, is so finishing his life.
Every eight years I have been shooting a hare. I call it that. Every eight years I have been changing my life. Eight years later in Russia, I realized that my fund is on my feet. People in Tarus know about us, know where to go if they need help. I could only engage in advertising and collecting money. Then I realized that it is time to take on the next project: it's time to create jobs. I believe that it is better to give people work than bags of food. And, to be honest, I also wanted to check myself - can I make business without any connections here.
It's like Switzerland: everything is clean, excellent, they don’t throw candy wrappers, beautiful at home, flowers everywhere. But this is the facade.
My Swiss acquaintances introduced me to one Russian designer - she designed the interiors for the rich. She had an order in a two -story banker’s two -story apartment in Vydensky Lane, which is not far from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior. She needed a construction team, and she asked to help. At first I was scared, and then agreed. So my construction company Art 3D appeared, which is engaged in finishing work with the rich. And there I have 100 of our Tarusian boys.
I have been to the houses of our main billionaires. I am not immediately used to the carpets of gold. I still can’t get used to kitchens with an area of 200 square meters. I remember working for one billionaire in the kitchen - he asked there to attach a veranda. And so he sleeps on the second floor, and two cooks are preparing breakfast to him. And there is such a table! Such fruits, such cheeses, such fish. This is not to convey. I could not believe my eyes. I remember that he came out of him and thought: “What then does he eat for the New Year?”
Gradually I entered their society. With one, we had breakfast in his house on Rublevka twice a month. He told me: “My grandmother has a hut in the Volgograd region. I would go there and engage in the garden. But I can't. I know too much, they won’t let me go. ” I somehow laugh and say one: “So I can buy a“ Lada ”, but you don’t.” The one to me: "Why is it?" I say: "You are not at the same level, they will not understand you." He came to one house, and there the woman asked me: "Well, how are you?" I say: “Great! There was such a day off! I went for mushrooms. ” And her eyes light up. I say: "And you?" “There were again in Milan.” She has her own plane, but how he hesitated her. You no longer know these people how to please.
© Polina EremenkoBut our grandmother, whom the children kicked out of the house and who now lives in our fund, is so easy to delight. We gave her a room, and she was comfortable and warm. You will prepare a horror for her holiday, and she is madly happy.
One day I see rich children. They have more toys than in any store. They go outside only with a nanny and with protection. They cannot cry, they can not cry. Mom says to the nanny: "My child should never cry." But this is all fake, these children do not understand reality. And another day I am in an orphanage with children who, if they got into such a house, would be stunned by: "They give so many porridge there." But they would not understand anything. The orphanage would very much want this life, but this is the facade. It's like Switzerland: everything is clean, excellent, they don’t throw candy wrappers, beautiful at home, flowers everywhere. And you want it. You do not know that people here are robots, that in their diary, affairs are recorded six months in advance, that these people do not have spontaneous holidays. You do not know all this, but you want such a life terribly. Because it is beautiful at home, because flowers.
It’s good that my wife understood this. Maybe she had thoughts about moving to Switzerland when we only met, but now I do not hear about this. In my family, only my 12-year-old daughter says that I would like to move to Switzerland to live. But this is easily explained: she spends summer with her grandmother in Switzerland, and her grandmother cooks very tasty, nothing more.
I go there on a phase, I speak with my piglets - good.
Of course, in Russia there are things that enrage me. Yesterday I wore one woman bags, asked how else you can help. She says: "Help with firewood, I don’t know how to drown, winter is soon." I say: "Of course." And then we go to the second room, and there the man lies. Time is noon. And he lies and watches TV. Not drunk, sober lay. How angry I am! It infuriates me. It really infuriates me. Lays lazy. Drinking is still infuriated me. I am struggling with drunkenness in Tarusa. From Switzerland, I specially brought a piece of paper in which 24 issues, on them you can determine whether you are an alcoholic. For example: "Can you drink alone?" And three workers with my help no longer drink. I'm not talking about cirrhosis - it's too tough. They need to draw the prospect of life without alcohol so that they see the light. Russian women make a mistake when they forbid their husband to drink. From the prohibitions he will drink spite. I see how this happens. He is drunk, she beats him with nettles on her neck, then he sleeps for two days at the fence, and then she purses and takes him back into the house.
Every eight years I have been shooting a hare. A year ago, I sat in a bathhouse and realized that I want to revive communities in a Russian village. The charity fund is already working well without me, for my construction company I found an executive director. Now it's time to throw out the clock, turn off the mobile phone and leave for the forest. I have already thought out the project - all last year I devoted to reading books about the history of Russia, about agriculture, I walked around the yards, collected information. Someone very wise once said: "If you want to break Russia, break the communities." The worst fiction is a pension. Because people stop worrying about their parents. The community will fix this: young people will hold the elderly, if a disabled person will help. In the community there is no "I live well", there is "we live well."
I always said that in Russia an anarchist monarchy would be ideal power. That is, the king sits in Moscow and protects the boundaries, but the villages live on their own. My project will help people earn. We will sell products. I am now searching for sales channels. It’s good that I have a millionaire friends. Farm products are more and more in fashion. And then farmers have many products here, but due to the fact that sales are not established, potatoes are rotting with whole trucks. I already bought a plot of B40 qiwas Taruses in a deep forest, this village is not even on the map. I have 3 rams, 20 geese and 25 rabbits. Now I go there for the weekend, but in a year I plan to move out for good. There is no refrigerator, we will quarrel in an oak barrel, we smoke the legs. A month later they will bring a hive. I go there on a phase, I speak with my piglets - good. There are four houses for starters. To me and three more families. I have not found family yet - I am looking. Hard. When we set up life in four houses, we will expand. I remember with horror how I told some journalist about five years ago, a couple of years, I will end here and go back to Switzerland. What kind of nonsense? Things will never end in Russia.
