Vladislav Surkov was appointed assistant to the president. The corresponding decree is published on the website of the head of state. The former Deputy Prime Minister took the position that was released after the appointment of Tatyana Golikova as chairman of the Accounts Chamber.
The decree on the new appointment entered into force after the signing by Vladimir Putin. Messages that it was Surkov will replace Golikov, who worked as an assistant to the president since May last year, previously appeared in the media.
Surkov was resigned by the presidential decree on May 8. It was emphasized that the Deputy Prime Minister leaves his post of his own free will. According to the official version, the resignation was related to the execution of last year's decrees of Putin.
On the eve of the resignation, Surkov entered a public controversy with the leadership of the Investigative Committee on the investigation of theft in the Skolkovo Foundation. In early July, the official representative of the TFR Vladimir Markin said that the reaction of the department to the statements of Surkov , who doubted the presence of evidence of the facts of abuse in Skolkovo, could not be so harsh if they had information about his imminent resignation.
At the end of July, Surkov said in an interview with the Russian Pioneer magazine that he continues to consider himself a supporter of Putin . According to Surkov, God sent him to Russia. The former Deputy Prime Minister also said that he intends to continue the fight against the opposition. “They are either my opponents, or directly enemies. There is no support for them. There is no respite to them. Of course, my funds are not the same now. But nothing, I will guerrine alone,” Surkov said.
In mid-August, there were already reports of the return of Surkov to the Kremlin, but the former Deputy Prime Minister denied them. In particular, the sources of Izvestia claimed that Surkov was offered several posts to choose from. Among them is the place of the president’s envoy in the North Caucasus, the post of head of the state corporation in the Far East and the position of the head of the new corporation, designed to unite Rusnano and the Skolkovo Foundation.
The refutation appeared on Twitter Alexei Chesnakov, who worked under the leadership of Surkov, in the past, deputy head of the Presidential Policy Department, and then Deputy Secretary of the General Council of United Russia. In his microblog, he said that he received SMS from Surkov with the following text: “He never discussed with anyone a position of innovation assistant, nor a plenipotentiary in the North Caucasus, nor the Minister of the Far East, nor the head of Rusnano Skolkovo (and I can’t even imagine how these latter can be united).”
