What makes the revolution held? Always - the image of the future, able to inspire the bulk of the population. Not necessarily the majority, but a significant, critical mass. The modes are staggering and collapsing at the moment when, along with the slogan "Down!" A tangible and attractive picture of what will happen after.
The image of the future, which destroyed the USSR and overthrow the Soviet regime, was simple and understandable to the majority of the population: we will live in the West, where forty -sized sausages in the store, forty channels on TV, there are no queues and coupons. Freedom, democracy - these categories were woven into the picture of the future with sausage and bright windows.
Without such an image of the future, a protest, even the most justified, is always doomed to be marginal and non -hazardous.
Navalny and his team held an excellent campaign and achieved an outstanding result - instead of “maximum 15%”, which turned into a “maximum of 20%” during the campaign, Navalny received almost 30%. But with all the success of the actions of the Navalny team, the main task was never solved. The protest base has not expanded. Everyone who was already located and vote against the authorities was already voted - voted for Navalny, but the main depolitized and conditionally loyal to the regime of the population remained a depolitized and conditionally loyal. The “problem of the second round” arose not because these people voted for Navalny instead of Sobyanin, but because they did not come to vote at all.
Why, despite the extremely successful campaign, on active and energetic actions, the protest base has not expanded? Why, in almost two years, who passed with the First Bolotnaya, the protest did not go beyond that-of course, considerable, but still limited-group?
Of course, this sad situation has many reasons, but it seems to me that there is one main one that determines all the others. The image of the future. More precisely, its complete absence.
What image of the future does the protest movement offer today? There is a large - even a very large list of claims to the authorities. Which, however, exist discretely, with difficulty decorating into a systematic whole. But in two years, it still has traveled a very long way from-"Churov resigned!" And "Down with the party of crooks and thieves!" Before the confrontation of the regime as a systemic whole. However, the answer to the question is, what will happen when there are no crooks and thieves, it still sounds like this: there will be no crooks and thieves. What will happen when Putin will not? There will be no Putin. The image of the future remains simply a projection of the rejection of the present. And, in fact, it looks like this: let it be the same, only without Putin, without crooks and thieves, without Mizulina and Astakhov (options: without Sechin, Rotenbergs).
This image of the future is able to inspire, and even then with great reservations, only a specific and very limited group, which has two characteristics. Firstly, a sufficient degree of success-with all the nuances, they should well arrange their position in the world, the structure and structure of life (let it be the same). Secondly, a high degree of susceptibility to ethical and aesthetic categories.
The main mass of the population does not have these characteristics. And not only in the characteristics of the matter. We are used to counting the depolitized loyal mass of the population with a limited, blunt, zombie TV, and at best, extremely wrapped and touched. Maybe so, but these same inhabitants understand very well (or do not understand, but they feel at the level of human instinct) that we are dealing with a single system, a certain whole. They understand that if without Putin, then “just like now” will not be. And without crooks and thieves it will certainly be completely different. And about Mizulina, which really does not affect anything and does not mean anything, most people have not even heard. Like most of her colleagues, deputies and their legislative initiatives.
And the point is not that people really like "how now." They are not at all so successful as to certainly want "as now." Their life for the most part is difficult and exhausting, and often simply rather poor. And not that they like lies and theft - they do not hurt ethical issues, but they are not at all alien to the issues of elementary justice. They are ready and maybe they would even be happy to live without Putin, lies and theft, but no one says anything about this other life.
That's all with contempt, they snort at Sputnik & Pogrom. But at least they are trying to draw this very image of the future. The national state is cozy, small, clean, European. Such is Estonia. However, it is difficult to imagine that this image can inspire some masses. Nationalism - with all its apparent electoral attractiveness - entertainment for a very limited circle. But there is nothing beyond nationalism at all. Only - "let it be the same, only without Putin, crooks and thieves and Mizulina."
