Nadezhda Maltseva over seven years of imprisonment saw four colonies. I sat in Mordovia, in IK-14, where Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is now serving time. Freed from IK-28. There is now Maria Alekhina. What is it, female prisoner life - asked The New Times

Nadezhda Maltseva spent seven years in the zone and believes that the prison does not correct, but only hardens
They closed me on April 13, 2006 in the city of Nuga Perm region. I myself come from there. Condemned for 11 years in prison under Art. 228 h. 2*.
*"Illegal storage, acquisition, transportation of drugs."
At the cassation, they threw off the year, removed the charge of organizing the group. Of course, I was to blame. Just not of what they accused of. I lived with a man, with a gypsy. And his cousin was engaged in the sale of drugs. She was taken on an arrow with a drug addict, and when they threatened that they would put her minor nephew and cousin, she gave a one and a half kilograms of heroin and wrote that he was mine. I have never been engaged in the direct sale of drugs, I was a simple courier, which many, and the organization of a criminal community was hung on me.
My gypsies first went to me on dates, so I got pregnant in IK-28 in Berezniki Perm region. I was taken to Mordovia in IK-2. This is a colony for women with children. There is DMR - the house of the mother and the child.
"Registration"
From the very first minutes, as the administration met us, I realized that I got it. As soon as we unloaded from the autozak, to us with the obscenities: “Well, e ... your mother, bitch, na ... fox, came. Well done. Well, quickly! " Then they brought to the headquarters. There, the administration, the Operadel, they look at things: “Yeah, 228th, wonderful, ten years, excellent, well, well, we are here.” I had a small period of pregnancy, 14 weeks, the abdomen was not visible, and they did not even see why they sent me to them. Apparently, they thought that I was from prison, and not from the colony came to them. And when I went into the operactel, they began to ask questions: "I traded in drugs?" At first I was silent. "Well, tell me where you took where I drove, where did you sell?"
I say: "Sorry, everything is written in the verdict, and if you want, you can read it." They answered me very rudely and even put my palm to my head, which was very upset, I roared very much. They did not beat, but hit. I remember I stood roaring, I came up to me, the daytime (convicted person who works at the headquarters): "Stop it, everything is fine." I was called again, apparently, they read that I was pregnant, they said: “Well, nothing, don’t worry. This is so that you know where you are. "
And if, for example, a woman comes with prison violations, she will definitely immediately fall under the club ( batons. - The New Times ). So they tame, that is, they show that here is your place, and if you violate, it will be even worse.
There is such Kiyimyaev, the deputy chief in security, everyone is afraid of him. I myself did not meet with him, but many convicts said that when they start a guilty woman to him in something, he simply puts on red boxing gloves and beats-here, get it. Listen.
Before the release of women, they say that how to come out, they will definitely go to complain. But as far as I know, no one complains. IK-2 in Mordovia is hell, this is a nightmare. For the administration, we are not people, we have no rights, we have no right to vote at all. And when the authorities from the department or a commission from Moscow come, the women are simply hidden in the detachments, and the commission speaks only with people prepared.
"
Women who do not fulfill the development rate that allow themselves to resist the regime can put their displeasure in the cell.
" Mother and child's house
I gave birth in a prison hospital. There, in Mordovia. On the fifth day, they brought me with my daughter Toma to the colony. I gave the girl to the nurse, she took her to the DMR. I was searched, then brought into the children's department. And at first I lived with my daughter in boxing, 12 square meters. I did not believe that they would leave me with her. The convicts told me: “You are not“ warming up ”**, you don’t have a wide pocket in the wild, you will not be left in the DMR.”
** That is, you do not get constant translations and parcels from the will (jarg.).
When Tom and I got there, there were 95 children. This is a lot. Only nine convicts can live with children, no more. But it so happened that one girl, my countrywoman lived there, and she gave her child home in four and a half months and agreed to be settled in her place. And I lived in the DMR for two years.
Many women do not want to live in the house of mother and child. Not because they do not want to be with their children, but because it is hard. Firstly, you see a very little child. You have responsibilities for caring for other children. Secondly, near the DMR there is a very large territory, and in order to keep it clean and order, you need to work day and night. In winter, I went to the territory at five in the morning and went into my boxing ten in the evening before the end. The asphalt paths should be cleaned of snow, we had to snow in even snowdrifts. I worked for free.
Once I quarreled with one mommy. And they punished me - they brought me to the zone for three days, and I came to my daughter only for feeding. This three -day separation was a large injury for me and for the child. Fortunately, the crew of the film “Anatomy of Love” was supposed to come, and I participated in the filming - I was returned to the DMR. And when I saw my daughter again, I realized that her eyes were running away - she began to mow. I am sure that this happened on her nervous ground. But I did not say anything to the employees. I generally had such tactics there: I was silent and suffered all the humiliation from the administration in order to be left in the DMR. After all, there is very strict, a little what you say, they can close in a cage and deprive feedings, and you will not see the child at all.
Cell
This is a nightmare. I never sat in it, but other women told me. If you commit some kind of violation, you are closed in a cage. Six to seven people can shove there. Before you go into the cage, you need to undress naked, then make you squat. Brought in a cage naked, and then give clothes. This form of punishment is not prescribed anywhere, in any code. The cell is located right at the headquarters of the colony. She is very dark. And when the commissions come and ask what it is, they say to them: this is a premises for the things of convicts, decreasing to the stage. Women who do not fulfill the norm of production that allow themselves to resist the regime can put their displeasure in the cage.
Industrial zone
Promzones, or "industrialists", in different colonies differ from each other. For example, there are several workshops in IK-2, and convicts do not have the right to move from one workshop to another without permission. Without permission and without special pass, they do not have the right to go to the toilet. And the toilet is on the street. They go there with the whole brigade.
The work there is hard. Of course, those who first find themselves in the colony cannot sew. And on the third day, you already need to give out the norm. Otherwise, you will let the whole brigade. And you will be obscured. And then they will beat. I remember one girl, Julia, she was 21 years old. They put it by the sewing machine, production, a knife. After all, they are not trained there, they are simply planted and say: "Shey!" And she does not understand what to do, where to press, and does not know how this machine works. And at first she did not work out. I sat opposite her and saw how the foreman approached her and poked her head on the machine - punished her to try.
And in IK-13 in the Mordovia of the industrial zone-generally a nightmare. It is impossible to work there. The rotten building, failed floors. The cars are old. It is impossible to sew on them. The synthetic winterizer has to be cut by hand with scissors. The scissors are stupid, they rub their hands to the blood. They work there in three shifts for eight hours.
And in Mordovia they are terribly fed. I was hungry there for days. When brought to the dining room, you need to eat very quickly. And you sit in outerwear and eat at a frantic speed. It happened that I did not chew, but swallowed food, because the employees drove: faster, faster.
A token to the toilet

On the parade ground. IK-14. Mordovia
When I was transferred from IK-13 to IK-14, to where Tolokonnikova is sitting now ( these two colonies are in the village of Parz, on different sides of the road.-The New Times ), Ik-13 seemed to me paradise. There are no normal conditions for women in IK-14. The bathhouse is taken out only once a week. Half an hour to washing the detachment. And the detachment is 100 convicts. Who did not have time, he was late. In the detachments you can’t wash, you can’t wash. Emerate on the "laundry". There are four or five hygiene rooms in IK-14, as they are called. When I was there, the colony contained one and a half thousand women, and hygiene rooms were open only two hours a day, from seven to nine o’clock in the evening. After work, terrible lines to wash. And if you work in the second shift, then you do not have time to wash. Of course, women find some way out of the situation, make relations with the daytime ( as a rule, these are convicted with long terms.-The New Times ). In 2011, when I was sitting there, they had a token system: in order to get out of the hut to the courtyard to the toilet, it was necessary to take a token. And if I went to the toilet without a token, they will write a report - a violation of the regime.
Stage
When I had a deadline, I realized that I would not be free in Mordovia. Only those who could pay the money left there. My mother wrote a letter to the director of the FSIN Alexander Reimer to be transferred closer to the house, to the child ( Nadezhda gave my daughter to the upbringing of my mother. - The New Times ). And here is a miracle-they transfer me to IK-28 to Berezniki.
At the stage, the hardest is the Stolypin car. There is such a stink! I rode in a four -seater, like a compartment, up to ten people are placed there. They brought us to a pre-trial detention center in Ulyanovsk, and there are no sorting boxes-this is such a long room with benches where you can sit for a whole day while you are determined in some camera. So, in Ulyanovsk, we sat twelve in a small one -sewing cage for twelve hours. We were never lifted into the camera, then they let us go to the stage.
Then there was Kazan. This is a special prison. We went into the camera, and there - looking. Says: "Pay tribute, dear." This means: powder, shampoo, soap, cigarettes, tea. And the next day I can leave for Perm. I was indignant: “Do I have to pay for the night? Who are you? "
"
To leave the hut to the courtyard to the toilet, it was necessary to take a token. And if you went to the toilet without a token, they will write a report - violation of the regime
" Zone for Alekhina
![]() |
In IK-28, unlike some Mordovian colonies, there are warm toilets
IK-28 in Berezniki is much better than Mordovian camps. The zone is also divided into local areas, but there has never been a token system there. On the industrial zone there are toilets, a bidet with hot water, washbasins with hot water, not only in Mordovia, where there is no hot water at all. On the industrial zone there are normalized smoke breaks, you can drink tea or coffee in breaks - there are titans.
At the industrial zone I talked with girls from the 11th detachment, where Alekhin was determined. They spoke well about her - educated, and this is valued there. The only thing that everyone said: the commissions, correspondents will come, will have to follow all the internal rules. Recently, these rules have become even stricter. If you want to go to UDO, you need to sign up for the library, take an active part in the life of the detachment, correspond with home.
The proximity of the tuberculosis hospital is worried in the colony - she is right behind the fence. Women are taken there from other colonies. They say that they can also be put in the hospital with pneumonia, and there it is quite possible to become infected.
Cooperation
I was once called to her by a woman from the ope - and said: “We will give you a conditional nickname, and you will write to us notes, tell us what other convicts are doing. You will throw notes in a red box. ” He is specifically in the zone for complaints of convicts. That is, I had to "knock" on others. Describe everything that I saw, who swear with whom, who walks without a scarf, etc. I refused, said that I was leaving soon. It was still in IK-2 in Mordovia.
To nowhere
In fact, the prison does not correct, but only hardens. In women, something feminine dies. It seems forever. I sat for seven years and feel that I was coarse. Having freed, everywhere I see only hypocrisy and lies. But I would not want to return there for nothing. And there are women who take root in the zone. On the one hand, it’s convenient-a roof over your head, fed three times a day, rent to work, they pay some salaries. Plus, you can find a “family” there, which is well “heated” with which you will have everything. And being released, many come to nowhere.
When I was freed, I really needed the help of a psychologist. In the colony they gave me a piece of paper, where it is written where I can seek help - to the social protection authorities in the city where I am registered. I came there and asked how to see a psychologist. I was brought into the office. She did not ask me anything, took out a large plastic bag and said: “We just bought one -time help - food. Will you take it? "
And she gave me six packs of quick -cook noodles, stew, sprat, 300 grams of washing powder, toothbrush, pasta, soap.
That's all psychological help.
