The deputy head of the "Izvestia" quit

Dmitry Yuryev, deputy editor -in -chief of the Izvestia newspaper, who worked in this position for only a month, leaves the publication.

“The decision was made by agreement of the parties,” Yuryev said on his Facebook page. According to him, the reason for the departure was the discrepancy in the views of journalism with the chairman of the board of directors of the editorial office of the Izvestia newspaper, Aram Gabrelyanov.

Yuryev also says that after leaving Izvestia, he is going to focus on the scientific leadership of the Modern Media Institute (Momri).

Dmitry Yuryev became deputy chief editor of Izvestia on August 19. Earlier, he headed the St. Petersburg Regional Executive Committee of the United Russia party, was one of the heads of the party university party study project.

In the summer of 2012, claiming the post of head of the United Russia CEC, Yuryev published a document on the party website, in which he harshly criticized the situation in the party in power and proposed a program for its modernization.
