Exhibition “Titian. From the Museums of Italy” at the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, it was decided to close three days later. reports this RIA Novosti . The museum's press service explained that the exhibition was extended due to the large number of visitors.

The exhibition was originally scheduled to last until September 29, but will now close on October 2. According to Pushkin Museum employees, more than 340 thousand spectators have visited the exhibition since June 27, but, nevertheless, last weekend (September 21-22) long queues formed at the entrance to the museum again.

It was previously announced that the Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde exhibition, which also opened in June, has been extended by three weeks. Instead of September 22, the exhibition will close on October 13.

Exhibition “Titian. From the Museums of Italy" includes 11 works by the artist from 10 Italian museum collections. The works for the exhibition were selected to reflect Titian’s entire creative path - the exhibition includes paintings on religious and mythological subjects, as well as portraits. The Crucifixion (1558), an altarpiece created by the artist for the Church of San Domenico Maggiore in Ancona, is being exhibited outside Italy for the first time.

Also exported from the country for the first time was the altarpiece “The Annunciation” (1565), which dates back to the late period of the Italian artist’s work and was created for the Chapel of St. Augustine in the Church of San Salvador in Venice.
