Outgoing life through the eyes of a Brooklyn photographer

Leningrad region. Lost in the forests between Ladoga and Onega lakes, the village of Alyokhovschina. Two sisters, Alevtina and Lyudmila, for more than half a century have been following the house that their brother built here after the Second World War. They never got married, relatives - who left, who died; So the women remained in complete solitude. They themselves take care of the garden, they themselves are chopping firewood for the stove, they themselves wear water from the well. The disappearing life of the disappearing generation, quiet classes and a small world around was photographed by their grandchildren, Brooklyn photographer Nadia Sablin, who received Firecracker Award for this photo project in September 2013.
