Tolokonnikova in a "safe place"

The FSIN refutes the information that Tolokonnikova is transferred to the penalty area. Earlier, the transfer of the convicted person in the Schizov “for the sake of its safety” was reported by the chairman of the Public Supervisory Commission of Mordovia Gennady Morozov.

On the Internet, the signatures are collected in support of Tolokonnikova, the letter of which about the inhuman conditions of the content of prisoners in the colony yesterday caused the broadest public resonance . The Federal Penitentiary Service called statements by Toloconnikov’s blackmail. The Investigative Committee of Mordovia announced the start of verification of complaints from the convicted person.

On the reaction of the leadership of the Mordovian colony to Tolokonnikova’s letter and what a “safe place” is, where she was transferred from the detachment, said Irina Khrunova, lawyer of Nadezhda Tolokonnikova:

- Events in the colony developed as follows. I know this from Tolokonnikova herself, with whom we spoke on the phone last night. In the morning, she took the application to the duty unit about the hunger strike, right there she was not released anywhere, neither to the detachment, nor for sewing, and she sat all day in a certain room, which is usually used as a room for searches of convicts. So she spent all day there, twice left there. The first time the investigator of the Investigative Committee came to her, who wanted to interview her on her application for a crime against the deputy chief of the colony. But the survey did not take place, because Nadia said that she would communicate with the Investigative Committee exclusively in the presence of a lawyer and she needs legal assistance, so the survey was postponed tomorrow, when a lawyer appears in Zubovaya Polyana. The second time she was called by the head of the colony, and, in my opinion, they tried to put pressure on her. The head of the colony tried to make her give a receipt that she knows that in the Criminal Code there is such an article as a knowingly false denunciation. Here is such an unusual function of the head of the colony against the backdrop of all its statements, it seems to me that it was an attempt to try to scare Tolokonnikov again. She refused to do it. After that, the head of the colony announced to her that she was placed in a "safe place". To which Nadia replied that, in principle, she did not ask for this, because the “safe place”, the security camera is the place where the convicts usually get, who are threatening from other convicts, that is, this safety chamber does not have access to other convicts, but, of course, any employee of the institution has access there. Nadia said that, in principle, she feels the largest threats precisely from the employee of the institution, so there is no point in placing her in the safety chamber. To which the head of the colony replied that he had made a decision, her opinion does not matter to him here. After a conversation with a lawyer on the phone, she was supposed to go to her detachment for personal things and after that she would spend the night already in the security chamber. There was information-in the morning someone, apparently, was not a very competent employee-that it was placed in a schizo. This is not true. Apparently, the security camera is just in the same building as the schizo, so there was such a somewhat wrong information. In reality, she is in the security chamber, not in a schizo. We know that today representatives of the prosecutor's office came to the colony. We know that surveys and other actions of lawyers will be carried out with the Investigative Committee in the near future, it will be either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. So we will expect reliable information. Since there is a lot of information around Nadia, it is very controversial, I try to trust only my own sources, and that is why telephone conversations are coming with it almost every day.

- And what can you answer to the accusations of the management of the correctional institution in blackmail against you and the spouse of Tolokonnikova Peter Verzilov? Is there any documentary evidence that there is a move to this case?

- I have no. I learned this from the press, but it seemed to me very funny, because I regard this exclusively as a colony reaction to yesterday's statements by Tolokonnikova. That is, they thought for some time-and after that this information appeared. I can say the following. I have been going to this colony since December 2012. There has never been an occasion that my communication with one of the employees of the institution took place without a video recorder. We approach the colony - we immediately see video surveillance. We go to the colony - we see an employee who accompanies us, who has a video recorder in a pocket. That is, we know that we are constantly being removed in the colony, we are constantly fixing our actions. Therefore, it would be stupid on our part, on the part of me or Verzilov to blackmail someone there, knowing that video surveillance is being followed. This is all the complete nonsense, the conversation was absolutely calm with the head of the colony, I tried to understand what happened to him, why he created such, according to Nadi, a nervous situation around her. I asked him to transfer Nadia to another detachment, it really was, but exceptional for the reason that in the detachment where she was at that moment, she was threatened. I asked him to be transferred not to an art workshop, but to any other place of work, including, perhaps, it would be an art workshop. Just for the reason that Nadi’s main problems and main threats were just at the place of work, in the sewing team, ”said Irina Khrunova, lawyer of Nadezhda Tolokonnikova.
