Just the State Duma in the second and third reading adopted a law on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences. A huge number of scientists opposed this law, saying that he, in fact, kills science in Russia. Nevertheless, the deputies quickly approved the ill -fated document by a majority of votes and dispersed dinner. And that's good.
It was originally planned that the reform of the Academy would be approved even before the Duma holidays, but then, at the end of June, in the very season of academic leave, hundreds of scientists took to the streets and briefly slowed down the legislative skating rink. And that's good.
Employees of the Ranov Institutes all summer discussed the misfortune that had fallen on them, gathered at extraordinary meetings at their research institutes and the presidium of the Academy, wrote countless open letters and talked a lot with journalists. And that's good.
The irreconcilable enemies, who barely greeted, if they accidentally collided in the corridors of the Academy, acted as a united front and, surprised, supported each other and agreed with the point of view of the opponent. And that's good.
In those days when the servants of the people had to deal with the bill on reform, researchers arranged festivities in front of the State Duma building. One of the prominent scientists who just at that time told the telecorrhever, why the initiative of the government and Mon was bad, worried and was ashamed that he was sitting in the studio, and did not stand on the street with colleagues. And that's good.
To all those who squeamishly frowned, when they were discussing politics around, who was defiantly interested only in the theme of their research, who pretended not to know about the existence of a completely different world behind the walls of the laboratory, in which everyone does not give a damn about the unconditional value of fundamental research-it suddenly reached all these people that if they did not get up from the chair, then they would be very unknown and completely unknown to them and completely unknown to them. Alien.
Lovers to be attached to the feeling of their intellectual superiority suddenly saw what place such despised officials determined them. Scientists who ascended themselves into the status of the elect finally tried to take their own life into their own hands, but a hasty attempt to force those in power to reckon with their existence failed. And that's good. Well, because now in the country there are a little more people who understand that it is not abstract power, but they, they themselves, personally and specifically each of them determine their lives.
