Interpol blocked the international wanted list of Kerimov

Interpol blocked the sanction on the international wanted list of Uralkali's co -owner Suleiman Kerimov, who was arrested in absentia by the Belarusian authorities on charges of abuse. This is reported by Interfax with reference to unnamed sources "Familiar with the situation." According to one of the agency’s interlocutors, the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Russia has already received an appropriate notification from the headquarters of this organization in Lyon.

On September 2, Belarusian officials reported that the country's authorities sent a request to the Interpol to the inclusion of Kerimov to the international base of the wanted persons and on the same day this request was fulfilled. Nevertheless, on September 11, the General Secretariat of Interpol denied this information .

Meanwhile, Kommersant reported on Friday morning with reference to unnamed sources that Karimov’s sale of 21.75 percent of Uralkalia shares belonging to him stalled, since the oligarch set a condition for the transaction to return to him lost in Dagestan.

As the publication noted, after Magomedsalam Magomedov was appointed President of Dagestan in 2010, Kerimov’s positions were seriously strengthened in the region. In December 2012, Dagestan Deputy Prime Minister became the general director of Oleg Lipatov, which is controlled by the oligarch of Naft Moskva. However, in January 2013, Magomedov was replaced by Ramazan Abdulatipov, and Karimov’s influence in the region decreased significantly. Lipatov was shifted from the post of Deputy Prime Minister; Abdulatipov also appointed new curators of infrastructure projects.

Nevertheless, as one of the interlocutors of the newspaper said, the Kremlin is inclined to believe that “not a single“ Uralkali ”is worth the subject of the federation”, and therefore they do not intend to discuss the possibility of strengthening Kerimov’s positions in Dagestan. "The condition for receiving money for Suleiman Kerimov is his equidistance from the centers of power in Russia, including the Kremlin and the White House," the source noted.

The interlocutor of the publication added that if the oligarch refuses political conditions and leaves Russia, the terms of the transaction for him will be more profitable than if he insists on his requirements. At the same time, it has not yet been decided who exactly will buy Karimov’s share in Uralkali. Among the possible buyers are the banker Vladimir Kogan, however, as the source of Kommersant assured, provided Karimov’s refusal from the political conditions of his campaign is unlikely to get Kogan.
