Putin signed the RAS Reform Law

President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kremlin press service reports . At the same time, a decree was signed on the creation of a federal agency of scientific organizations. The law will enter into force from the moment of publication.

On Thursday, representatives of the RA RAS union transferred to the presidential reception in Moscow more than 120 thousand signatures in support of the appeal with a request to stop the reform of the State University. The authors of the appeal require that the issues of reforming the Russian Academy of Sciences "be submitted for a wide public discussion, and until that moment no decisions on them were made."

On Wednesday, the Federation Council approved the law on the reform of the system of state academies. 135 senators voted in his support, two abstained, no one voted against.

In the morning on Wednesday, the “protest festivities” of scientists against the adoption of the law were held at the Big Dmitrovka Council on Bolshaya Dmitrovka (

Photo, video ). About 400 people took part in them. According to the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate, the police detained four people. Explanatory conversations were held with two of them, and on the other two, administrative protocols were drawn up.

The Duma adopted the law on September 18. During the meeting, the Duma at its walls took place a protest of scientists, for which more than a thousand people gathered (

PHOTO ). After the deputies from the Communist Party went to the protesters and reported on the adoption of the law, the police began to push and squeeze out the participants of the action. Ilya Khudyakov and Alexander Maevsky were detained, who carried a funeral wreath to the Duma. They drawn up protocols on a violation of the procedure for holding rallies. Ilya Vorontsov, who shot a police colonel on the video, asking him questions about the causes of the police, was also detained. He was released after a preventive conversation.

After voting in the Duma, one of the most famous Russian scientists, academician Vladimir Zakharov, turned to Putin with an open letter . He reminded the president of his public speech on September 4 against the tough version of the reform. “We all cannot imagine that you can so dramatically change your point of view in such a short time, and without having informed anyone,” writes Zakharov. “From this I conclude that the members of the Duma acted on their own initiative and acted contrary to your will. The situation is still corrected. The fate of the law in your hands.” He called on Putin to impose a veto on the law.

On September 28, a “meeting in the Pushkin Square” will be held, organized by the Trade Union of RAS Workers. The event will be held in the form of a meeting with deputies that does not require coordination. A number of parliamentarians have already confirmed their participation.
