
President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kremlin press service reports . At the same time, a decree was signed on the creation of a federal agency of scientific organizations. The law will enter into force from the moment of publication.

On Thursday, representatives of the RA RAS union transferred to the presidential reception in Moscow more than 120 thousand signatures in support of the appeal with a request to stop the reform of the State University. The authors of the appeal require that the issues of reforming the Russian Academy of Sciences "be submitted for a wide public discussion, and until that moment no decisions on them were made."
On Wednesday, the Federation Council approved the law on the reform of the system of state academies. 135 senators voted in his support, two abstained, no one voted against.
