Putin replaced the governor of Stavropol

President Vladimir Putin dismissed the Governor of the Stavropol Territory Valery Gerenkov. The corresponding decree is published on the Kremlin website. According to Putin, Zernov "asked to use it at another place of work."

By the same decree, the head of state appointed the region of Vladimir Vladimirov, who was previously the vice-governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The official will occupy the position of acting The governor before the elections that will be held in September 2014.

Gerenkov was appointed governor in May 2012. The decree was signed by the outgoing President Dmitry Medvedev.
