In the Saratov region, the indexation of teachers' salaries has been canceled

Regional authorities promised last year that teachers' salaries would rise to 21,000 rubles from October and would not be less than the average salary in the region, as provided for in President Putin's decree. But, as it turned out now, the indicators have already caught up, that is, there is no need for further indexation.

Recall that the increase in teachers' salaries is mentioned in the May decrees of the President, signed by him immediately after taking office. In the Saratov region, the salaries of teachers were raised from December 1, 2012, according to the calculations of the regional Ministry of Education, thanks to which the average salary increased to 18.8 thousand rubles. Throughout the year, officials and deputies reminded that from October 1, 2013, the school is waiting for another indexation, after which the average figure will rise to 21,000 rubles a month. At the last meeting of the Regional Duma, it turned out that there would be no increase: according to the calculations of the Ministry of Education, pedagogical workers already receive no less than the conventional average Saratov citizen, that is, the president's desire has been fulfilled. According to the department, in the first half of the year the average salary of school teachers amounted to 20.5 thousand rubles (5 percent more than the average salary in the whole economy of the region).

As representatives of the ministry explained to the press, according to the law, the region is not obliged to index school salaries from a certain date, and promises that were previously persistently sounded from the TV screen - well, not all dreams come true.

It should be noted that the cancellation of indexation became known two weeks after the elections to local self-government bodies (as in other regions, in the Saratov region, teachers form the main workforce of the PEC). The scandalous bill was considered at the last moment - at the committee on social policy, convened an hour before the start of the meeting of the regional Duma. The decision of the authorities came as an unpleasant surprise for many teachers.

It must be said that the “average salary of teachers” indicator itself has the same relation to reality as the average temperature in a hospital. The fee that each individual educator receives depends on the portfolio they have collected. Portfolio indicators are converted into points, points into rubles, the calculation method is complex and largely depends on the teacher's relationship with the school administration. The actual salaries of teachers differ significantly even within the same educational institution.

In total, 44.4 thousand teachers work in the region (a year ago there were 47.2 thousand). According to the estimates of the city education committee, about 150 young teachers came to Saratov schools last academic year, about 90 this year, but "some of them work only until the middle of the second quarter."
