Thomas Quasthof became a stand-up comic

The famous German baritone Thomas Quastkhof, who finished his musical career last year, performs in a comic show on the stage of the Berlin Kabar.

On Mondays, his representations are held at the Wühlmäuse Theater, the English music critic Norman Lebrecht reports on his blog.

The show “Keine Kunst” (“This is not art”) Kvasthof leads with the artist Michael Frovin. They make fun of performers and critics, revealing the aspects of the musical community unknown to the public, about which the former first baritone of Germany knows much more than many.

Thomas Quastkhof (b. 1959) debuted as a singer in 1988, concerts in many countries of the world, mainly with a chamber repertoire. The repeated laureate of the Grammy Award and the owner of many other musical awards, Kvasthof worked with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Simon Rattl, Daniel Barenboym.

Having completed the scenic career in the winter of 2012 , due to health reasons, Kvasthof continues to teach Hans Eisler at the Berlin Higher School of Music, as well as conduct master classes and manage the International Vocal Festival DAS Lied .
