For a long time, the concept of beauty was associated exclusively with the cult of youth, a stereotype, contrasting beauty and old age, firmly settled in public consciousness. The Old Alder project is an attempt to dispel this stereotype, to expand our ideas about age, to create an image of an attractive elderly person. The blog explores the features of national color, the relationship between age and the style of older people living in Russia. Consciously or by accident, they create original images, based on sensations, intuition and the experience of the past.

This series is a collective portrait of our elderly compatriots, who retained a sense of style contrary to the circumstances and the system of ideas about old age. This generation lived for a long time in conditions of deficiency and political regime that suppresses any manifestations of individuality. And now, in modern Russia, many pensioners live in conditions incommensurable with the level of normal life. Nevertheless, neither these circumstances, nor the power of stereotypes associated with age, are able to overcome the desire of people to look beautiful.
