© classic.fmMembers of the Musical Council under the Committee on Culture of St. Petersburg called the names of conductors, who, in their opinion, can be involved in cooperation with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg (GASO).
The list of conductors on Thursday, October 3, was distributed by the press service of the Culture Committee:
The Culture Committee is recommended to consider this list and start negotiations with conductors included in it in order to invite them to participate in the concerts of the orchestra in the current season.
In mid -September, it became known that the St. Petersburg Culture Committee decided to unite, under the new leadership of the HASO, the Governor's Orchestra and the Chamber Choir. The merger is associated with the implementation of the project of the city administration “Opera - to everyone” and officially called “reorganization in order to increase wages to cultural workers”.
The main conductor of HASO Alexander Titov was dismissed without explanation. In this regard, the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture Boris Illarionov was reprimanded . Last week, Illarionov informed the chief conductor of the governor's orchestra Stanislav Gorkovenko that from January his orchestra will cease to exist.
