Zhuravlev’s bill provides for amendments to the Family Code. "The assumption of one of the parents of the child of sexual contacts with the faces of his gender" can cause "huge harm" to the psyche of the child, it is noted in the explanatory note to the bill.
“The bill applies to those whose families have already broken up due to non-traditional contacts of one of the spouses, or those parents who do not hide sexual relations with the faces of their gender,” Zhuravlev explained to Kommersant. And in case the spouse suspects her husband that he practices unconventional sexual relations, according to the deputy, "we have a court and the Investigative Committee, whose specialists are trained in all."
At the same time, Zhuravlev is sure that there will be no problems using the law, since the Family Code "neatly approaches the issue of deprivation of rights." Now the deprivation of parental rights is provided for by parents suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction, those who committed a deliberate crime against the life of their child are brutally treated or refused to take the child from the hospital.
As Kommersant noted, even his colleagues in the faction reacted to Zhuravlev’s bill. “You can come up with a lot of grounds to take a child from the family. But the task of parliamentarians is to legislatively create conditions that would retain the child in families if his rights are not violated there,” said Olga Batalina, deputy chairman of the Committee on Family, Women and Children.
On June 21, the State Duma adopted in third reading the law on the ban on adoption by same -sex families . The document also prohibits their adoption by citizens of those countries in which same -sex marriages are officially permitted - they include, for example, France. All 444 deputies who were present at the meeting unanimously advocated the adoption of the appropriate amendment to the Family Code. The amendment was introduced on June 18 during the second reading of the previously adopted bill. On June 26, the Federation Council also unanimously approved the law. In July, the law was signed by Vladimir Putin.
