This year, a special space is organized at the fair, Self-Pubinging Area , dedicated to the authors who themselves publish and sell their books, reports RIA Novosti . Frankfurt will host presentations, discussions, workshops and creative laboratories dedicated to various aspects of samizdat.
Among the participants, not only the authors and small publishers themselves, but also Createspace , the subsidiary of Amazon . The organization of most events was taken by the German resource Epubli.de , specializing in the Samizdat market segment.
The honorary guest of the fair this year is Brazil. Frankfoot is planned for many thematic events-concerts, film screenings, culinary master classes, capoeira lessons and much more. Publishers will present about a hundred book novelties and introduce the audience to young Brazilian writers. It is expected that more than 70 authors from Brazil will take part in the fair, including Paulu Lins, the author of the bestseller “City of God”.
The program of the Russian stand “Read Russia” will present the exposition of books of more than 60 Russian publishers. Writers Albert Likhanov, Alexander Kabakov, Alexei Varlamov, Evgeny Vodolazkin, Maya Kucheskaya, Viktor Erofeev, Maxim Amelin, Marina Stepnova, Igor Mikhailov, Marina Akhmedova, as well as the head of the Press Agency Mikhail Ceslavinsky and his deputy Vladimir Grigoryev will participate in the stand of the stand.
In total, this year, more than seven thousand exhibitors from one hundred countries will take part in the fair, the organizers are preparing to accept almost 300 thousand visitors.
