John Khmelevskaya was born in 1932 in Warsaw, in 1954 she graduated from the Architectural Department of the Warsaw Polytechnic Institute, and worked as an architect.
In 1964, her first novel “Klin Klin” was released. In total, Khmelevskaya wrote more than 60 books - detective novels and books of a journalistic nature, including “Autobiography” in seven parts.
Her novels gained great popularity and were published both in Poland and in other countries. In Russia, John Khmelevskaya is considered the founder of the “ironic detective” genre.
