The laureate in the nomination "Modern Classics" was Yuri Bondarev. Presenting the award to the writer, Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky called him "a living classic, one of the symbols of Soviet literature."
This year, in total, the jury read 163 works published both in the form of separate books and in literary journals.
According to the builders, the award supports the traditions of classical literature, recalling the authors of outstanding works of the 20th century, and also monitors the relevant trends of modern Russian literature, noting the talented authors of the XX1 century.
The prize fund of Yasnaya Polyana is 2.1 million rubles, the authors who have been in the short list will receive remuneration. The monetary reward of the laureate in the nomination "Childhood. Adolescence. Youth ”will amount to 300 thousand rubles,“ XX1 Century ” - 750 thousand rubles, a laureate reward in the nomination“ Modern Classic ” - 900 thousand rubles.
