Dmitry Sergeyev, in June 2012, replacing Demyan Kudryavtsev as president, Kommersant, reported his decision to leave this post in a letter to ID reporters, Izvestia reports.
“My place will be occupied by Vladimir Zhelonkin, whom I know well and recommended the board of directors and the shareholder himself,” Sergeev writes. He does not comment on the motives of his departure.
Vladimir Zhelonkin (b. 1967) headed the news agency of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Muscovy television company, was the deputy general director of Svyazinvest, worked in the Main Directorate of the educational work of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and he held the post of general director of the Zvezda media group.
In recent years, Zhelonkin has served as deputy authorized representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District.
With the main beneficiary of Kommersant Alisher Usmanov, Zhelonkin does not work for the first time: a few years ago he headed the AF Telecom Holding belonging to Usmanov.
