
The average market price of tablets sold in Russia in the third quarter of 2013 decreased by 29% compared to the same period in 2012 - up to 11,416 rubles. It is reported by Digit.ru with reference to the marketing study of MTS.
The average price of smartphones sold in the Russian market for the same period decreased by 11% and amounted to 9353 rubles. The cost of these categories of devices, according to MTS, is associated with the redistribution of consumer preferences of Russians towards the price segment of up to 15 thousand rubles.
According to the results of the third quarter of 2013, the Russian market of tablets increased 2.3 times compared to the same period in 2012 - up to 1.9 million pieces. In monetary terms, the sales of tablets increased 1.7 times - to 22 billion rubles.
In general, the MTS study, a decrease in interest in traditional solutions and the growth of the popularity of tablets - global trend. In Russia, it manifests itself with special force: the growth rate of tablet sales here significantly exceeds the average ID (world dynamics of growth market growth this year is less than 70%), as well as the growth rate of smartphones in the country.
Reducing the price of the mobile gadgets sold is another trend of this year, caused by a growing number of economical, but powerful devices. So, the Russian tablet market is now dynamically developing primarily due to inexpensive Android devices, observers note.
