Alexei Navalny and Peter Officer was given a suspended sentence

The Kirov Regional Court issued its verdict based on the results of the consideration of the appeal in the Kirovles case against Alexei Navalny and Pyotr Officerov. According to the reports of the supporters of Alexei Navalny at the trial, the deadlines for Navalny and the officer were replaced with conditional punishment.

The court decided to replace the real terms of imprisonment for conditional - five and four years, which were previously appointed by Navalny and Officer, respectively. Both convicts during these terms will be obliged not to change the permanent place of residence without notifying the special control body, which they should also be twice a month, the court decision said.

Commenting on the court’s decision, Alexei Navalny said that he did not intend to stop the political struggle, despite his assigned condition. “Our priority efforts should be aimed at putting pressure on power, so that people who are in conditions are much worse than me are released,” the opposition said.

Earlier, during the consideration of the appeal, the court refused to defend the defense party to call several witnesses and conduct a new commodity and financial and economic examination on the case materials.

It is worth recalling that on July 18, the Lenin court of Kirov sentenced Alexei Navalny to five years in a general regime colony, his companion Peter Officers received four years in prison. In addition, both defendants were sentenced to a fine of 500 thousand rubles. According to the prosecution, Navalny with an officer stole the products of the Kirov company Kirovles in the amount of over 16 million rubles. After the announcement of the sentence, Navalny was taken into custody in the courtroom, but the next day was released at the request of the prosecutor for a recognizance not to participate in the election of the Moscow Mayor.
