Alexey Nikitin: “I grew up on the banks of the Gulf of Finland, far from the city, which had a huge impact on me and to a certain extent on the music. In some releases, this is easy to notice, so my non -recusial background is nature, and the musical is quite common. From early childhood he loved music and listened to everything. I have no musical education. Seriously music, as it seems to me, I'm starting to study only now. And he began to try to do something for a long time as soon as the PC appeared. I moved to the city eight to nine years ago, but now I’m thinking about leaving closer to nature. ”

The emotional electronics of the Novo is like Eric Sati or Brian Ino, the music-environment into which the listener is plunged. Alexey Nikitin: “I like the concept of “ Solus ” and certain things that turned out. This album is a tribute to a specific musical era and sound, and which one is not difficult to guess. I must say that this music was not written yesterday and my attention has long been switched to other ideas and new music. Quite often it turns out that there is a lot of time between writing tracks and their output, in this case - about a year, and for me this is a huge time, so I am calm about the release. As for his fate, distribution in Russia and other things - I can’t say anything. ”

Foreign reviewers compare Solus with the electronics of the early 1990s-the heyday of the so -called intellectual electronics, which is now in fashion. With Autechre , Aphex Twin and M-Ziq . But, as we understand, this is just an attempt to attract the attention of the audience to the new talent, which, on the one hand, sinks in new music, and on the other, misses the old brands. It is wonderful that Alexei Nikitin does not really care.

Alexey Nikitin: “I am more worried about what specific development level I am - as a musician and as a person. As a musician, I am puzzled by many primary issues and as a person too, there is an inextricable connection in this. I am now trying to overestimate a lot, which will undoubtedly affect the (re -) definition and setting of my own goals, because the previous ones are not suitable)). For the past couple of years, I have been led by a fairly secluded lifestyle, and much has been postponed in a long box. Now some changes are taking place, but, as they say, we will live - we will see.

If we are talking about my released releases, then I am rather more dissatisfied with the results of my work, since the lack of experience and many other important factors, unfortunately, take place. As for what I am doing now, this is undoubtedly different both in sound, and in the approach, and on many other things, as I see. I used to write music using dramas, synthesizers, etc., now I work with software, but I think to gradually return to the iron. Although most of all I like to use both options at the same time. But I am still learning certain things regarding sound, and the abundance of software here is very useful. Stylistically, I have now gone closer to Techno and House, but at the same time I am writing both an empire and much more. I have never been particularly attached to a certain style for a long time. In this sense, I am unchanged. "
