As Torres then stated, the mercenaries were part of a group of 10 people who prepared the murder of the head of state. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs suspects that the ex-president of Colombia Alvaro Urist may be involved in preparing an attempt on Maduro.

Earlier, the Venezuela authorities revealed the alleged plans for another attempt on Maduro as part of an operation entitled "Baby", which was supposed to take place on July 24. A sniper was supposed to shoot at Maduro. Then its elimination was estimated at about $ 2.5 million, Torres reported.

One of the main organizers of the conspiracy was called Luisa Carles, who is in the United States, accused by Karakas and Havana of terrorism. The first attempt to attempt on Maduro, according to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was preparing in April, but failed.
