The first stage of the construction of the Skolkovo innovation city will end two years later, while the underground part of the construction is almost completed. This was announced by the vice-president of the Skolkovo Foundation for external communications and advertising Alexander Chernov in an online interview on the website of Gazeta.ru .

“There is a construction process when the invisible part of the construction, what is underground, takes a fairly large time. Imagine, to provide the entire system, the entire infrastructure of the supply of heat, water, electricity for a large number of facilities, for dozens and dozens of buildings - this cycle is practically completed,” Chernov said.

He added that two underground electrical substations have already been built, work has been carried out on laying all communications: "Now there is simply a stage of excretion, what is called boxes to the surface."

“I think that during 2014 and 2015 the first stage of construction will be completed. A university campus will be built, a technopark will be fully built that will accept all participants, and this is almost a thousand residents. Including a residential area and a number of other facilities, including social facilities related to the pastime living in the city, in the territory of Innograd,” Chernov said.

In an interview, the official also did not exclude that the cost of renting premises in Skolkovo would be higher than in Silicon Valley. At the same time, he emphasized that this will still be lower than the market value.
