In Lytkarino, near Moscow, the system integrator Technoserv, commissioned by the Avantage company, begins construction of a data processing center (DPC), which has every chance of becoming the largest in Russia, the wrote on Thursday. Vedomosti newspaper

As the head of the press service of Technoserv, Ekaterina Andreeva, told the newspaper and was confirmed by Avantage representative Anna Karakulova, the first stage of the data center should be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2014. Upon completion of construction, the project should become the largest among Russian data centers with 2,200 racks of servers. Now the largest operator of data centers in Russia is Dataline, which by the end of 2013 will serve 2,111 racks located on four sites.

The Avantage company was created in 2011 to build a data center. According to Karakulova, its co-owners are several individuals. According to the project description, its investors are the telecom operator Atlant-Telecom and the development group Peresvet.

The Avantage representative also stated that the estimated budget for creating a data center is about 4 billion rubles. At the first stage, Peresvet itself will invest in the project, and subsequently they plan to involve private investors in its financing or attract funds from banks. Karakulova hopes that his clients will be large and medium-sized cloud companies, financial institutions and telecom operators. In the future, an innovation and research center may be created on the basis of the data center.

As the newspaper notes, the sites of Moscow data centers are already close to filling, and their operators are looking for expansion opportunities. According to iKS-Consulting analyst Elena Frolova, this is not always easy due to a shortage of energy capacity, and therefore the Avantage project promises to be successful. However, she notes that by the time it opens, the data center in Lytkarino may not be the largest.

Russia's largest data processing center will be built in the Moscow region
