Funds from the sale of confiscated cars will enter the account of the state or those who suffered due to the fault of a drunken driver. According to the new law, fines for driving in a state of intoxication are also increasing, and sanctions to drunk motorists are also tightened, for the fault of which two or more people were killed in an accident. Now they are facing a imprisonment for up to 10 years.
According to official figures, for the first half of 2013, more than 20 thousand drunken drivers were detained in Belarus.
