Lee Harvey Oswald's ring left the hammer

The engagement ring, owned by Harvey Oswald, who is considered the killer of US President John Kennedy, was sold at auction in Boston for 118 thousand dollars on Thursday.

The ring was auctioned by the 72-year-old widow of Oswald Marina Oswald Porter, born in the USSR and, before marriage, bore the surname of Prusakov. According to her, she recently discovered this ring in the archives belonging to her former lawyer, the Washington RS correspondent reports.

In the accompanying letter to the auction house, RR AUCTION, Marina Oswald Porter wrote that she wants to get rid of the ring because she wants to part with all the things that connect her from November 22, 1963 - in the afternoon, when the president of Kennedy was shot in the Texas city of Dallas.

Lee Harvey Oswald is the only official suspect. He himself was shot dead by the Texas resident Jack Ruby two days after the death of the president.

Lee Harvey Oswald met his future wife in Minsk in 1961, where the wedding ring was bought. The former employee of the American Marine Corps, Oswald arrived in the USSR in 1959 and tried to get political asylum there, but in 1962, after his daughter and his wife were born, he left the USSR and his family and returned to the United States.

The auction in Boston is associated with the fiftieth anniversary of the murder of Kennedy. Hundreds of objects related to this tragedy, including the white limousine Lincoln, in which the president and first Lady Jacqueline Kennedy rode, are exhibited on it.
