155 years ago, on October 27, 1858, Theodor Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States in 1901-1909, was born. He remains the youngest president in American history.

During the Spanish-American War, Roosevelt took part in the military operations in Cuba and for the manifested courage was presented for awarding the Medal of Honor. The award was approved only in 2001 and Theodor Roosevelt became the first and only president awarded the highest American military award.
