The LDPR department in Chechnya self-disclosed due to Zhirinovsky's statements about the Caucasus

In Chechnya, the members of the LDPR closed the local party department due to the statements of Vladimir Zhirinovsky, which he allowed on the air of the "duel" program.

"This is an attempt on the democratic principles that underlie the Russian statehood. In this regard, we declare the withdrawal from the LDPR and the termination of the activities of this party in the territory of the Chechen Republic," the statement of members of the department said. They called on other regional branches to follow their example, and Russian citizens - not to vote for liberal democrats.

As explained, representatives of the LDPR, they cannot be a party whose leader "compromised himself as a bearer of fascist ideology." They also noted that Zhirinovsky "sank to the level of the ideology of the Ku-Klus-Clan."

“We believe that no sane person, a true citizen and patriot of Russia can support the slogans that sow national discord, infringe on the rights of millions of Russian citizens living in the Caucasus,” the statement said.

Zhirinovsky’s statement caused discontent not only to his one -party people from Chechnya. Earlier, State Duma deputy Magomed Vakhaev, as well as the leader of Yabloko, Sergei Mitrokhin, demanded to bring the head of the LDPR to criminal liability for extremism.

Zhirinovsky made his statements on October 24 in the program "Stug", which was dedicated to the terrorist attack in Volgograd. He then proposed to protect the North Caucasus with barbed wire and limit the birth rate there by introducing a fine for the third child. These measures, according to the leader of the LDPR, will help in the fight against terrorism.

In addition to Chechnya, the branches of the LDPR are open in such republics of the North Caucasus as Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia and Alania.
