October 21, Monday

The Netherlands appealed to the UN International Tribunal on the Law of Hamburg with a complaint about the arrest of the Greenpeace vessel Arctic Sunrise. The tribunal must decide whether the detention was legal. The chief lawyer of the organization Yaspers Theoling said that the decision will be made within two to three weeks.

October 22, Tuesday

Nadezhda Tolokonnikova left the IK-18 of the village of Potma in the Mordovian region and with the stage was sent to a new place of serving the sentence. The Federal Penitentiary Service earlier officially stated that Nadezhda Tolokonnikova was transferred from the Mordovian IK-14 to the correctional institution of another region on October 20, but the information was not confirmed at that time.

October 23, Wednesday

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation refused a new consideration of the case of the former head of the STUKOS Security Service Alexei Pichugin, sentenced to life imprisonment for organizing custom -made murders. Earlier, the European Court of Human Rights indicated violations during the process. Protection Pichugin plans to file a complaint with the European Council.

The accused of the murder of a resident of Biryulev Orhan Zeynalov complained to the Azerbaijani diplomats of cruelty by law enforcement agencies. Representatives of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry were able to meet with the detainee only after two notes of protest to Russia.

October 24, Thursday

The investigation refused to initiate the case against the deputy head of the Mordovian penal colony Yuri Kupriyanov, who, according to Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, threatened her with a murder. The Investigative Committee explained this decision by the absence of a crime in Kupriyanov’s actions. In her open letter, Tolokonnikova stated that she was threatened by reprisal.

October 25, Friday

In the Moscow City Court, preliminary hearings were held in the case of the Rosbalt news agency, which Roskomnadzor intends to deprive of a license. The defense asked Judge Alexander Lopatkin to terminate the proceedings, since the violation of the Rosbalt Law on the media was not legally proven. The department accuses Rosbalt of the publication on the site of obscene content, including a video with the song Pussy Riot.
