As noted in the press service, in accordance with the Charter of the LDPR, the liquidation of the regional branch is possible only by decision of the congress or the highest council of the party. "In the central apparatus of the LDPR, no statement has been received from the Chechen register of the party for leaving the party in recent days," the report emphasizes.

On Sunday, there were reports of the closure of the Chechen RO LDPR in connection with the statements of Zhirinovsky. "This is an attempt on the democratic principles that underlie the Russian statehood. In this regard, we declare the withdrawal from the LDPR and the termination of the activities of this party in the territory of the Chechen Republic," the department said in a statement. They called on other regional branches to follow their example, and Russian citizens - not to vote for liberal democrats.

As explained, representatives of the LDPR, they cannot be a party whose leader "compromised himself as a bearer of fascist ideology." They also noted that Zhirinovsky "sank to the level of the ideology of the Ku-Klus-Clan."
