Instead of Vera Dorofeeva, Nikolai Tsiskaridze, a former Dancer of the Bolshoi Theater, was appointed rector. And the artistic director instead of the Altynay Asylmuratova-Prima-ballerina Mariinka Ulyana Lopatkina. These unexpected and harsh personnel permutations in the oldest Russian ballet school caused a random of Vaganovka teachers. And a lot of permanent questions to the ministry: changes for without visible and logically justified reasons look another reprisal with those leaders of the institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Culture, which show independence and independence of judgments.
The first information about the possible change of the rector of Vaganovka came in the format of a skillfully played information scandal: at the end of last week, some information agencies with reference to each other issued reports of the appointment of Tsiscaridze, first by the rector of Vaganovka, then - the artistic director of the Maryinsky Theater ballet troupe. Both the information was immediately refuted - again with links to each other - both the Ministry of Culture, and the "culprit of the celebration" and the "spoke" news agency.
The foam of the scandal was beaten, and when on Monday morning, official reports of the change of leadership were raised, the journalists were already pushing Vaganovka in anticipation of the start of the press conference, which was in the operational regime and spent Vladimir Medinsky, who met with the leadership of the Academy.
The Minister of Culture briefly announced new appointments, handed bouquets of roses to dismissed ladies, presented a new rector (Ulyana Lopatkina is now on tour and did not participate in the conference). And then, as expected, he answered questions about the possible unification into the Unified Center of the Mariinsky Theater, the Vaganovsky School, the St. Petersburg Conservatory and the Zubovsky Institute.
All participants in the meeting understood that this topic looms behind personnel changes: the active confrontation of the dismissed leaders of the Academy and the entire team by the unification ideas of Mr. Gergiev.
Recall: back in early October, the ballet Academy addressed Valery Gergiev with an open letter, in which she reproached him for a misunderstanding of the real problems of training of ballet artists. And also in the fact that the maestro, spending most of its time abroad, does not understand the essence of training and the situation in the Vaganovka as a whole. The authors of the letter called the initiative of Gergiev to combine several diverse institutions into the Unified Center of the "baseless". They proposed discussing such initiatives in the professional community, and not resort to an administrative resource (Gergiev directly submitted his initiative to the President of Russia). A letter signed by the whole team, as now they are considered at the Academy, was a trigger of a sudden reprisal with the leadership. Moreover, Nikolai Tsiskaridze is mentioned in a letter as a person who does not imagine the real situation in Vaganovka.
The answer of Vladimir Medinsky to this very burning question was immediately replicated by all the media. The minister said literally the following: “The decision was formed for a long time. And we consulted a lot with the leaders of the industry. We came to the general conclusion that there will be no national center of art. After a careful study of this issue, we unequivocally consider the unification of the Academy, the Mariinsky Theater and the Conservatory in the proposed version and in the proposed form inappropriate. ” And he promised not to touch the current rector of the St. Petersburg Conservatory.
This answer of the minister, in fact, means only one thing: that the Ministry of Culture openly does not support the idea of Mr. Gergiev. But such issues are not resolved at the level of the ministry, and if the president says: “It is necessary”, the ministry will answer: “There!”
When asked - what caused such a hasty change of leadership of Vaganovka? - The minister did not answer directly. At the same time, he did not express any complaints to Dorofeeva and Asylmuratova.
Grigory Ivliev, Deputy Minister, told Novye that this personnel castling was preparing in advance, the issue was discussed with Nikolai Tsiscaridze in the summer.
The real reasons for the ministerial "gypsies with the exit" remained under the carpet. It was necessary to employ Nikolai Tsiscaridze and ensure in the future a beautiful exit from the theater Ulyana Lopatkina (they are peers)? Perhaps, but why should this be prepared secret, carry out in the form of a cavalry attack, and even in the middle of the school year? Moreover, if Nikolai Tsiskaridze is now free from performances and tour and can devote enough time to the leadership, then Ulyana Lopatkin remains artist Mariinka. According to the press service of the theater, they have no information that Prima-ballerina is going to leave the stage. And to lead the entire educational and creative process, to educate hundreds of students at a distance is impossible, this is not an artistic leadership, but profanity. Why, then this honored ballet dancer not to lead the ballet troupe of the Mariinsky Theater itself? The position is still vacant. By the way, this place could be proposed to Altynay Asylmuratova, dismissed from Vaganovka.
Now the ballet Academy has developed a strange situation: according to the charter, the position of the rector is elected. Candidates must take the selection of the Academic Council and receive the approval of the entire team. And only then the rector claims all the vice -rectors. According to the "new", it was decided to postpone this procedure until the end of the current school year, that is, until the summer of 2014. So while the entire leadership of Vaganovka - the rector represented by the Ministry, all vice -rectors are “acting”.
And these two letters are the real result of the entire ministerial intrigue.

Opinion
- To discuss and even more to condemn the decision of the Minister of Culture is an absurd matter, although the appointment of Tsiscaridze to the post of rector of the Vaganovskoy school is just as absurd. After all, we are talking about the Academy of Dance, which has almost 300-year history and the universal authority of the forge of professional personnel of classical ballet performers. The traditions that formed and developed the classics of ballet pedagogy Jean Batist Lande, who created the first Russian ballet professional school (now the Russian Ballet Academy named after A.Ya. Vaganova) in 1738, Charles Didlo, Fedor Lopukhov, Agrippina Vaganov, Konstantin Sergeyev (Belsky became the rector of the academy, became rector of the academy, became rector of the academy, Having a 50-year experience of pedagogical work behind your back). Their business is adequately continued by students-leaders. While Nikolai Tsiskaridze does not have serious experience not only as a teacher, but even more so as the head of the educational institution, where children of 9-10 years old begin their professional education. It is also strange that a person brought up in another - Moscow - school and very superficially familiar with the professional secrets of his St. Petersburg colleagues is also appointed to the post of rector. However, the position of the rector is elected, so Tsiscaridze is so far only acting. So to preserve the normal educational situation, in my opinion, it is necessary to hold the legal elections of the rector as soon as possible, and always with the presence of alternative candidates.
