Google is preparing for the mass production of its own smart watches, reports Wall Street Journal. The company almost completed the development of a wearable gadget and is now in negotiations with the Asian suppliers of components in order to start launch in a few months. Smart Watches will work under Android and will be able to interact with other devices. The integration of Google Now is also expected - with the help of a virtual assistant, the gadget will be able to answer user questions and tell him the necessary information depending on the surrounding context.
In this way, the company intends to solve the main problem of “smart watches”: so far they remain only displaying alerts with addition to the smartphone, and not a full -fledged gadget, which often causes bewilderment among customers. For example, yesterday it became known that the Galaxy Gear watches from Samsung have an abnormally high number of returns: customers refuse almost every third device. In addition, modern wearable gadgets require frequent recharging, and in the next couple of months, Google expects to seriously reduce the energy consumption of the product. Compact and healthy gadget with a long time? If the company succeeds, “smart watches” will be able to turn from an expensive toy to normal.
It is not yet clear what the novelty will look like. However, it is known that more than a year ago, Google has acquired the developer of Smart Watch Wimm Labs . In the fall of 2011, the company introduced the Wimm One gadget running Android - it looked pretty nice.
