Among them, one can note the "Memories of the Solovetsky Prisoners", published by the Transfiguration of the Solovetsky Monastery. The book includes notes of fourteen sufferers. Its presentation will be held today in Arkhangelsk, at the opening of the exhibition "Books, people, fate: the book heritage of the Kargopollag."

Arkhangelsk appeared here not by chance. In the region, a lot is done to preserve the memory of the past, and this is gratifying. Even the community of Fr. John Privalova, with the support of the Preobrazhensky Commonwealth, organized several exhibitions. For twelve years of using this house, the parishioners did not dare to make a reconstruction in it, remembering that its walls keep the warmth of Father Theodore. Small alterations touched the roof and late extension. The house was strong, not a single rotten log. And suddenly, already after overclocking the community about. John Privalova, the house is destroyed. Why? Why on earth?

“Of course, they can explain to us that a new beautiful house for clergymen or Sunday school will appear on the site of the old building, but while to agree on the destruction of a solid house of a real new martyr of the Russian with high -profile promotions to raise funds to open the museum in memory of the same new martyr? Of course, if you look at the situation wider, it is not one Metropolitan Daniel, but in the general approach of church top managers to antiquity monuments. In the church fence, ancient buildings are easily demolished and new temples are erected. They can even be named in honor of the new martyrs. But material memory is clearly shortened.

Is it possible to adjust the cultural church policy? Today this question hangs in the air. And in a situation of struggle against the return of the Iron Felix to the Lubyanka, he has not only spiritual and cultural, but also political dimension.
