
In Moscow, employees of the Ministry of Emergencies liquidated a fire in the building of the School of the Modern Play Theater, RIA Novosti reports. The fire was extinguished at 14:01.
350 people were evacuated from the theater. According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The fire area was 500 square meters. As specified in the Ministry of Emergencies, wooden floors were burning in the theater between the second floor and the attic. Part of the floors collapsed. The collapse area was 150 square meters. 131 people stewed fire with 38 units of equipment.
The Ministry of Emergencies about the causes of the fire has not yet been reported. As suggested by the artistic director of the theater, Joseph Reichelgauz, the fire occurred due to faulty wiring. He noted that the incident is not related to the struggle for the building. “This is just the wiring, there was no noby evil will here,” he said to Interfax.
A fire report was received by rescuers at 11:42. The first fire brigades arrived at the scene after three minutes later.
"The School of the Modern Play" is located at Neglinnaya, house 29/14. This building was built in 1864, and before the revolution it was the Restaurant "Hermitage", in which the French cook Lucien Olivier worked.
