Vaganovka does not want Tsiscaridze

According to RIA Novosti , an open letter was signed by almost a hundred people - teachers of the Russian Ballet Academy. Vaganova, as well as artists of the ballet of the Mariinsky Theater. The document is sent to the Russian authorities.

The letter, in particular, states that “the last personnel decision of the Ministry of Culture of Russia represented by Minister Vladimir Medinsky and his deputy Grigory Ivliyev on the radical change of leadership of the Russian Ballet Academy causes an extremely negative assessment of the team of the Mariinsky Theater and the Russian Ballet Academy.”

The authors of the letter say “about the mistakes and haste” of the adopted personnel decisions , about “misunderstanding the fundamental principles of the functioning of the ballet school, the violation of the fundamental concepts that have served the professionalism of the St. Petersburg ballet school for centuries, the preservation and development of the Russian ballet as a whole”.

The letter notes that the voluntary, but unexpected departure for the well-deserved rest of the rector Vera Dorofeeva and Khudruk of the Academy Altynay Asylmuratova, “inflicts irreparable damage to the entire administrative and creative potential of the institution, interrupts the continuity of the traditions of the school and seems unacceptable, if not a criminal decision.”

The organization’s work is practically paralyzed and huge damage has already been caused not only the prestige of the Academy itself, but to all Russian culture, the authors of the document believe.

PS Today, November 5, it became known that the former artistic director of the Academy of the Russian Ballet. Vaganova Altynay Asylmuratov will remain her vice -rector.
