Microsoft openly accused Google of reading all emails from its Gmail users, writes the British Telegraph .

Microsoft is conducting “outreach” as part of the Keep Your Email Private campaign. On the website of the same name, the corporation claims that absolutely every email is read - Google does this for advertising targeting purposes.

"Gmail users should be aware that Google scans all of their incoming and outgoing messages, highlights keywords it deems relevant to them, and then uses this data to serve ads to them," the site says.

Microsoft emphasizes that it is shocked by how Google invades the privacy of users, using personal correspondence for profit.

Microsoft also gives examples of such intrusion - for example, users whose correspondence contains the word “cat” are offered products for pets, and those who discuss divorce by mail are offered assistance from lawyers in divorce proceedings.

Companies that once operated in different fields are now direct competitors, and the confrontation between them is intensifying. In particular, this is not the first time that Microsoft has brought charges against Google for violating the privacy of correspondence. In February of this year, as part of the “Scroogled” campaign, Google was accused of scanning user emails.
