The Central Bank offers the Russians to choose a graphic symbol of the national currency. Five options were submitted for public discussion on the regulator website . In the voting questionnaire there is also the column “Against all”.
Talk about the introduction of the ruble symbol has been going on since the 90s, and in 2006, the Law “On the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia)” even appeared a new function of the Central Bank-the approval of the “graphic designation of the ruble in the form of a sign” (in Article 4). But over the past seven years of the generally accepted designation, our currency has not appeared, although unofficial signs still have a walk.
The regulator offers to replenish the gap and vote for one of the five “signaling signs” presented on his page on the Internet. However, the Central Bank does not promise the fact that the symbol of the ruble eventually will be an option that won in a popular vote.
The elections will last until December 5. When the Bank of Russia will voice the winner, it is unknown.
