Letter to the editor

Dear Misha!

Heartfelt congratulations on your anniversary. I really appreciate dates like this because it's the best reason to say good things to your friends straight to their faces and without embarrassment. You are perhaps the only person I personally know who has done something of comparable significance both in science itself and FOR science and scientists. Your purely scientific achievements are known, significant and interesting, but I am sure that the main ones are ahead (even if this is a stock phrase, but in this case there are grounds for such confidence).

And about the fact that “for scientists”, the wonderful scientific newspaper where these words of mine appear is in itself an indisputable evidence of your achievements, even if there were no others - but they exist, of course. I would like to wish you that in the next stages of your life you will have the opportunity to devote as much time and effort as possible to research itself, i.e. so that everything else is in order and requires less and less of your effort. I have no doubt that you will make the best use of this opportunity. Happy Birthday!
