In early August, artists sued their former comrade in the New Artists group, accusing him of assigning 25 works shown at the Assa exhibition. The last generation of the Leningrad avant -garde ”, which Africa arranged at the Museum of the Academy of Arts.
All these paintings since the late 1980s have been considered lost.
According to ART1 lawyer Andrei Vasiliev, who represented the interests of four artists, "all, except for the four works located with Vladislav Gutsevich, the court awarded the demand from Sergey Bugaev in favor of the artists."
The lawyer also noted that the defendants or a third party will have a month to appeal the court decision.
