By 2022, the tourist cluster "Museum of the USSR" will be created in Ulyanovsk. Its construction will cost the federal budget of 33 billion rubles.
The remaining investments are expected from extra -budgetary sources, on November 7, the director of the Ulyanovsk Regional Resource Center for the Development of Tourism and Service Sergey Lakovsky, said today, on November 7, on a round table in RIA Novosti .
The project “Museum of the USSR”, which is planned to open to the 100th anniversary of the USSR, involves the creation of a museum complex with an area of 120 hectares, which will include museums of political and economic history of the USSR, Soviet army, Soviet fashion and design and much more.
“It is supposed to reconstruct a part of the already existing museum complexes in the Ulyanovsk region, to build several dozen new ones in order to create a museum cluster called the“ Museum of the USSR ”. This is largely an innovative project, which before that in our country was not in our country, ”said Sergei Zhuravlev, deputy director of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He added that the creation of a new cluster is an attempt to combine a public, scientific, museum and commercial component. “At the same time, the commercial should be the engine of science and museum business. The success of the entire undertaking depends on the extent to which this will be implemented, ”said Zhuravlev.
The authors of the project expect that the number of cluster visitors will reach a million people a year.
