
FSB investigators presented the former State Duma deputy from the LDPR Mikhail Glushchenko an accusation of organizing the murder of Galina Starovoyova. It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to an unnamed source in law enforcement agencies. The day before, a deputy’s lawyer reported that the charge should be charged under Articles 33, 277 of the Criminal Code (organization of an encroachment on the life of a state or public figure). The maximum sanction for this crime is the death penalty.
The accusation of the ex-deputy was brought by the Haaz hospital, relating to the structure of the Federal Penitentiary Service in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. There Glushchenko, convicted at different times in two criminal cases, is under treatment. After the prosecution, the investigators began the interrogation of Glushchenko.
The investigation of the murder of Starovoitova was resumed in October 2011 . Earlier in this case, eight participants in the crime were convicted, including the technical organizer Yuri Kolchin and the direct killer. They received from 11 to 23 and a half years of colony.
At the same time, back in March 2011, Kolchin stated that the customer of the crime of Glushchenko. The name of the ex-deputy was repeatedly mentioned in connection with the murder of Starovoitova, but Kolchin first testified directly indicating him as a customer.
The attempt on Starovoitov and her assistant Ruslan Linkov was committed on November 20, 1998 at the entrance of the deputy’s house on the Griboedov channel in St. Petersburg. Starovoitov died on the spot, her assistant survived.
Glushchenko was arrested in June 2009 on charges of extortion and involvement in the murder of his former companion and also ex-deputy of the State Duma from the LDPR Vyacheslav Shevchenko, as well as businessman Zorin and Translator Viktoria Tretyakova, who was in 2004 in 2004. For extortion, Glushchenko received eight years of colony, the investigation of the murder case continues.
