Since November 11, the Bank of Russia has revoked the license to carry out core activities from two credit organizations: the Samara Interregional Volga-Kama Bank for Reconstruction and Development (Volga-Kama Bank) and the Moscow Stroindbank. This is stated in the official press releases of the regulator (you can read them here and here ).

The Central Bank indicated that Volga-Kama Bank was actively involved by its owners in lending to their own businesses, and Stroindbank repeatedly violated the anti-money laundering law and was involved in dubious transactions. In both organizations, the regulator appointed a temporary administration.

Volga-Kama Bank was a participant in the deposit insurance system, so its clients can count on compensation for deposits worth up to 700 thousand rubles. The organization ranked 307th among the largest Russian banks in terms of the size of deposits. Stroindbank was not included in the deposit insurance system. In terms of assets, it ranked 717th among domestic financial organizations.

On November 5, Samara media reported that Volga-Kama Bank suspended payments to customers. On November 8 it became known that the organization had a new owner. The media also reported information about an ongoing audit of the bank in connection with the case of the theft of 106 million rubles from Rosneft, part of which passed through the Volga-Kama Bank.
