A park project in Zaryadye was chosen

The winner of the international competition for the landscape-architectural concept of the Zaryadye Park was the New York Bureau Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

This was told today, on November 12, at a press conference on summing up the results of the competition, the chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, the website of the Moscow 24 television channel reports.

“The second place went to the consortium of the TPO“ Reserve ”from Russia, and the third was taken by the team led by the MVRDV bureau from the Netherlands,” Kuznetsov added.

According to the Diller Scofidio + Renfro project, the park will be divided into several zones corresponding to four Russian landscapes - forest, swamp, steppes and tundra. An artificial microclimate in different parts of the park will be created using temperature regulation, wind control and imitation of natural light.

The approximate cost of the winning project is $ 150-200 million, the final figure will become known in 2014. The project will be financed from the city budget. According to the head of the Moscow Department of Culture Sergei Kapkov, it is expected that 20 million people will visit the park in the first year after the completion of construction.

The arrangement of the city hall plans are not limited to the arrangement of the park itself. It is also planned to expand and make pedestrian zones Street Bararku and part of the Moskvoretskaya embankment near the Zaryadye.
