The Moscow football club "Spartak" wrote statements to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl region and the regional prosecutor's office with a request to initiate criminal cases against the team's fans who hung a Nazi flag at the Russian Cup match with Yaroslavl "Shinnik". This was reported by Championship.com with reference to its own sources.

On November 10 , it became known that Spartak, on its own, established the identities of the fans who were involved in hanging the flag. According to the chairman of the board of directors of Spartak, Leonid Fedun, there was a provocateur among the fans, who unfurled the banner. Fedun called the fans who supported the appearance of the flag in the stands fools.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spartak added that the Red and Whites handed over all the materials from their own investigation to law enforcement agencies. Fedun emphasized that he expects these fans to be severely punished.

The Nazi flag appeared in the stands during clashes between Moscow fans and police. Due to unrest in the stands, the game between Shinnik and Spartak was interrupted several times. Following the match, the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the RFU punished the Muscovites by holding two home games without spectators and fined them 600 thousand rubles. Shinnik must hold three matches without spectators.

The capital club played games with Lokomotiv (1:3) and Zenit (4:2) in front of empty stands. Fedun estimated Spartak's losses from matches without spectators at 45 million rubles.

The match between Shinnik and Spartak took place on October 30 in Yaroslavl and ended in a victory for the guests with a score of 1:0. The only goal in the second half was scored by Dmitry Kombarov.
